The 57th annual Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament kicks off Sunday. A family friendly opening ceremony gets underway at 5 p.m.

Kailua Pier will to life with food booths, arts and crafts offerings, music and celebration. Hula dancers with modern influences and music will perform during the ceremony, which is free and open to the public.

This big game fishing tournament built on prestige and strict International Game Fish Association rules for world records starts Monday and continues through Aug. 6. Twenty-seven teams from around the world are headed to fish the world-famous waters off the Kona Coast.
